Caleb Hawkins

Caleb and his wife Natalie have been at Generations since 2018. A native of Gwinnett county, Caleb enjoys spending time with his family and church community here in Norcross/Peachtree Corners. He serves as Associate Pastor at Generations along with currently pursuing a Ph.D in historical theology at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Scottie Finlayson

Scottie was born in Michigan but grew up in the Suwanee/Duluth area. Though he grew up going to church, it wasn't until his senior year of high school that he came to personally understand his own deep need for the grace of Jesus. Throughout his time at Auburn University and in the years afterward, the Lord began to lead Scottie in the direction of vocational ministry, giving him opportunities to serve churches and ministries both in the U.S. and Latin America.

Scottie began attending Generations in 2018 and very quickly felt that it was a place he needed to root himself. As he and a few other young men met weekly with James over the span of a year and a half, it started to become clear that there was significant overlap between the church's needs and some of Scottie's experiences and passions. This led to him coming on staff first as a Pastoral Resident and later as Missions Pastor, which has been a joy and a tremendous blessing to him.

Scottie currently oversees missions, worship, and communications. His heart is to equip our church family to live in a way that is "worthy of the gospel of Christ" (Philippians 1:27), joyfully and sacrificially engaging in the mission of God. In his free time, Scottie can be found exploring nature, playing music, or out on the soccer field.

James Rowell

James Rowell helped to plant Generations with his father, John, in 2010 and he took on the role of Lead Pastor in the summer of 2013. James received a Master's Degree from Kennesaw State University in Conflict Management in 2008. His undergraduate degree is in Journalism from Toccoa Falls College. Growing up in the home of a pastor and church planter, James was saved by Jesus at a young age, but his heart was more fully captured by the person of Jesus and the mission of Jesus in his early 20's.

James spent 4 years after college in a management role within the service industry before entering vocational ministry in 2008. He loves sharing life and ministry with his best friend and beautiful wife, Betsy, and their 6 kids, Dylan, Josiah, Ephraim, Daniel, Reagan and McLean. They live in Norcross and dream about seeing this community saturated by the gospel of Jesus Christ so that disciples are made, servant leaders are sent out, and churches are planted among the nations and the next generation.

If you have any questions for James or want to connect with him, please feel free to send him an email.

Zac Gilcrease

Zac was born and raised in Tampa, FL where he grew up as the second oldest of 3 brothers and 2 sisters. His parents are on staff with a Christian ministry and demonstrated to him from an early age what it looks like to trust and follow Christ. He began taking his faith in Christ more seriously at the age of 17 after a church youth camp where the Spirit opened his eyes to the immeasurable grace and love of God through Christ.

Zac attended The University of South Florida in Tampa, FL where he studied accounting, played baseball, and met his wife, Jasmine. After graduating in 2015, Zac and Jasmine spent two years in Louisiana before settling in the Duluth, GA area where they now live with their daughter Lyla. Zac works full time at Specialty Building Products which is a building materials distributor based in Duluth. When he is not working, he enjoys playing and watching sports, reading, drawing, and pouring into the lives of other men.
